They're prone to eye and ear infections and have to have both constantly kept clean Ear wax that could fill a swimming pool. They also are prone to heart disease and arthritis as they age and tend to have short life spans. A 9 year old Newfie is a geriatric dog. This is exactly why breeding must stop.
